Celestia: “Usually? Absolutely nothing. Freedom of speech is protected in our laws. When the pony is right in front of me however, they’ll be getting the stare of death at least. Some ponies just need to learn tact… or spatial awareness.”
Understood.
@Meanlucario
And apologies, things got out of hand, little excuse though it is.
Anyone who incites more drama is subject to comment deletion and/or ban.
Nah man, loath as I am to let him have the last word, I’m done. This ain’t going nowhere.
And she treats them like crap as stated earlier, she can suck it up, nobility or not.
Last time from me as well: They’re still her employees, and they’re still on the clock.
Last time: talk to all the stories being passed around for Centuries with Celestia doing nothing despite knowing them false, and then expecting people to forget them at the drop of a hat.
Criticism unfounded is slander. Slander is a crime. End of story, move on.
Because in this instance it is.
Her word, errant or otherwise, could destroy someones life without legal action on her part, if Celestia doesn’t like someone and says as much, congrats, their blacklisted.
An elected official is not the same as a ruler who holds a crown and complete dominion over their people.
If she was elected or capable of being replaced by a successor, yes, itwouldn’t be ‘personal is political’ as you put it, but her influence is to pervasive and uncontested on every front for this.
And it does matter here for one reason: did she clean the mess of the Gala up, or did the people working for her do it? Did they get a say in the intentional fiasco she set up to get a laugh at their and the nobles expense
No?
Then she can kindly shut her trap and suck up any criticism that comes her way, family or otherwise.
But we’re not talking about any of that! The only way that would be relevant at all to this situation is if one took the “the personal is political” position.
Otherwise:
@Kamazeustra
My mentallity is the many before the few, so unfortunately I have little respect for a ruler who goes to great lengths to blot out history and puts their world at risk for individuals and then gets mad at people insulting her family, who were the targets of said acts. Even more so when she spat on her entire staff during the Gala when she could’be simply reorganised the event to her liking.
It’s arrogant, selfish and spits in the face of the oaths a crown entails. Even more so when one puts a psychologically unstable sibling, no matter how ‘reformed’ they are by magic, back in power without even a modicum of therapy.
The fact is as a world leader, your family doesn’t matter if they put more of your citizens in danger then they save.
I’m sorry if I wouldn’t orchestrate my brother’s rescue if it put thousands of civilians in potential danger, but thats the ‘ethics’ I follow.
And if this is slander what do we call Celestia allowing the myths and legends the maids spouting from when she was a child to propagate in the first place instead of putting it down the way it actually happened?
@Fighterpilot555
I’m not apologizing. His opinion seems to be that the personal is political, and I find that belief to be both obscene and unethical.
This isn’t nepotism. Name one scenario where getting caught on the clock slandering your boss or the boss’ family to the rest of the staff is acceptable.
To be fair, this guy has a point. Just because he has a stick up his arse regarding nepotistic behavior in a show for children, doesn’t mean you have to call him a dumbass.
Deity? Worship? Lots of assumptions there, kiddo.
And I just call it as it is.
Which implies as an ancient deity with god wirship there can be a difference.
And thank you for insulting someone who has been up till this point civil.
Please stop being a dumbass. An employee insulted their bosses family in front of their boss. That comes with consequences. The end. All these political statements of yours are irrelevant, because this isn’t a legal or political matter. It’s a professional and personal one.
Yeah, it almost make me regret sharing this pic.
I’m talking about the xk-end of wolrd scenarios in the show, and Luna going completely ape over not having a hoard of adoring fans like her sister, not what they’d do to others over this tripe.
Not this shit again. Look, she’s just showing anger at those that say syay about her sister, and the artist has shown a disinterest in violence for petty things like this. Please stop assuming that she loses it and see her as human (or the pony equivalent).
A ruler loses that card when they through a tantrum like an infant.
Even more so when they continually risk the world for personal needs and desires.
