Would have made sense, better than just a lame “she crashed, the end.”
 
It kinda makes it bad when they push her as being such an amazing, stunning flyer but then she just manages to crash into the ground.

It might have been written that way originally. In T.V. writing, plot elements are sometimes duplicated between episodes because a single episode or two-parter gets broken up for one reason or another.

eh, I woulda liked it better if Read had been split into two diff eps.  
One where dash discovers books, and one where Dash learns you have to take it easy when your sick/hurt.
