I had a friend like that in high school. We flirted all the time, would sneakily play footsie when we sat next to each other in class. But I never worked up the guts to actually ask him out.

Absolutely agree on that. Tried with girls on teenage years, then I’ve read about women more and I discouraged myself from them. Trying for 5th time on male side, but I’m not discouraged so far.
