that was S4, by S5 she’s got far more respect. Most ponies seem to recognize that she’s a princess on sight due to being an alicorn.
Twilight status as a princess is only ackwoledged when the plot requires it. other times she cant even get a taxi
Except for Twilight, the other 5 get roughly as much respect around equestria as a fry cook.
The Element Bearer aspect of their character isn’t really ever touched upon except for openers and finales and the hero portion even less so. It’s kind of been a thing since the show began.
