Description

Extension of source image. This is why you can’t use props and/or other characters as a size reference in shows. It’s quite obvious things get scaled as needed to fit the scene in question.

Background Pony #EAE1
A football would be made so that it’s a comfortable size to kick around by the average creature it was designed for. That means that a pony football could be radically different in size to a human one if they were put side-by-side, depending on what sized ball a pony needs vs what a human needs. So it’s not good for comparison. Same thing for cupcakes - their size is dependent on what the creature making it considers to be the right hold-in-the-hand/hoof size. They’re not necessarily the same size in pony and human worlds either.

The animals are more likely to be a good comparison tool.

Who s to say Spike’s ruby isnt accurate? Or any of the above from this pic for that matter? lol

But yea the average heigh keeps changing from around these sizes, but there s no such thing as ‘most accurate’, just more proofs with a certain object which size itself is unknown in the show and thus we use our own lol

Seeing these size comparisons and what people come up with is still fun a heck thou lol

The most accurate metric we have, is the 8-foot candy cane from Hearth’s Warming Eve. Besides, with most of these charts returning a pony height of about 1 meter, I think we can probably give all of this a rest until we (if ever) hear real numbers.

Until then, if you like ponies 3 feet tall or the size of a housecat, keep on having fun.

Actually also the show sometimes has size problems. In various scenes Celestia looks taller than she really is or Big Macintosh sometimes has size of normal stallion, but he is larger than them.

I think the most accurate scale to pony/EqG is soccer ball scale, which is probably the same as bunny scale and crown scale.

Personally, I think people should just be allowed to think of them as what size they feel is most fitting, as long as it’s somewhat consistent. We all know that all ponies are roughly the same size and we all know that all EQG humans are about the same size. Give or take a few inches on both. The only time scale really matters is when crossing worlds, which canonically is impossible without one species becoming the other as they change to the respective worlds anyways. Meaning it’s up for artistic license when stories involve such a thing.

I think its safe to say that the size of the human head and the ponies head are the same. Its the closest thing to bring the scale into balance.

The idea of them all being the size of that Pinkie is actually really adorable. Who wouldn’t want a shin-height technicolor pony?
