That moment when you realize that Friendship Games totally gave away the plot for the season finale.

Anyways, nothing personal. But…let’s try not to talk anymore.
Did not mean to sound that rude. But honestly. If you really think that you know more than the person who actually wrote the story, just because you don’t like it, then that’s really, really sad. Might as well say certain parts of history didn’t happen because it isn’t mentioned at other points in history.
Whatever. Not going to argue with someone who refuses to accept REALITY. The WRITER is sitting here telling you that it is 100% canon. And yet you think you know MORE. I’m beginning to understand why so many don’t like Bronies.
Again, one-sided. Her “experience” was lost during the show. Just like the comics. Its SEPARATE.
@MisterGunpowder
Is there any more solid proof that you two would like?
Not part of the new Mane 7 line of characters. He is friend to them like the rest of the character like Zecora and Celestia.
Different Flash and we did not see him ever again after that. 8/
Flash Sentry in a season 4 episode?
What it means is that it’s one-way canon. This is precisely the same kind of canon that the comics use. The show is canon to the comics, but the comics themselves are not necessarily canon. The same principle applies here.
Until the show itself shows an element within an episode that was established in Equestria Girls (which has not happened) the movies remain in a state of limbo. Regardless of what you may argue, only what is established in the show itself is 100% canon. Since we have yet to see ANY element of EQG enter the show itself, there is no concrete proof that the movies are canon.
We call this “Broad Strokes Canon” in troperland. It MIGHT be canon, it PROBABLY IS canon, but without proof from the primary source (read: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic ONLY, NOT Equestria Girls OR the IDW comics) it will not be completely canon. It fits, but I’m willing to bet that I can find any number of fanfics that fit, too.
That makes absolutely no sense. You’re basically saying it exists but doesn’t exist at the same time. Sounds to me that people are just trying to out EqG because they’re still butthurt that it exists. Get over it. It exists, it’s canon. Don’t like it? Don’t watch it.
Yes, considered main character.
Thank you.
Sidekick/team mascot material so not “mane” character. XD
No, this more firmly established that the main show is canon to EQG. Which we already knew since the first movie.
This is no stronger proof than anything else we’ve been given. Until some element of EQG is mentioned in the show itself, EQG is not established as canon.
8th. Spike is also part of the group.
Many times they say things that are not true or only wishful thinking. Like the Sunset missing her Equestrian life scenes for instance. They were scrapped because they did not want her to be homesick. Hence SG being the 7th member instead in FIM.
One sided though. Has to be both to really make sense.
Besides, the movies making reference to the show was done since the first.
And yes, this makes EQG 100% canon. Suck it.
It’s not like the Star Wars Expanded Universe where you have to really scout out what’s canon and what’s not. Most of what Hasbro and IDW puts out is canon. The only time it’s not is if it explicitly contradicts the show or the movies. I think, and don’t quote me on this, the only things that have been confirmed to be non-canon are toy lines, fan fictions (obviously) and a few comics. The rest is in the G4 canon.
It is? If the main show does not acknowledge or show anything about the spin-off then it does not “exist”. Just like the comics and books in the other media. Being “separate” is a nice way to put though.
