that exact moment made me rethink glimmer’s character quite a bit. like i said on another pic, she’s made good progress so far but her sheer persistence to deny reality and the willingness to trap herself in a time loop fighting her adversary literally for all eternity makes me think that, like discord, she’s damaged goods and it’ll take a while for her to really get over what seems to be some very deep-seated issues.
It was pretty obvious she was in the midst of a mental breakdown. It’s not easy to accept proof that everything you have been dedicating your life to is wrong. She was angry and broken and lashing out, which many of us should be familiar with.
Which, incidentally, is why Twilight was finally able to talk her down, when her words had no effect before.
I mean seriously as soon as she sees how much despair would be in the world if she was to prevent the mane 6 from being friends. The sooner she would realize that there wouldn’t even be any room to have her little village (or anything close to it) in the world she helped recreate.

Then not five minutes later she’s tearing up the spell to prevent Twilight from stopping her, saying she only saw what Twilight wanted her to.
