Um, no? More like “Night’s Favoured Child”.
I guess she turned Moon into Overdrive Mode.
And the funny thing is: Equestria seems to be doing pretty well, even when the moon is the only source of light. At that point it has been years, so I guess all those theories about Nightmare Moon being a stupid villain that would doom Equestria to freeze and wilt without the sun went out the window.
Pretty great actually.
Oh, that’s perfect. I like this idea, too!
Is what every Luna fanboy was saying in this scene.
The way I see it, NMM wants Celestia visible in the sky as if to constantly ask everyone “WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?”, but since it’s generally kinda hard to see the sun at any particular point during an eternal night, that pretty much just leaves…
Sorry, wrong image.
That occurred to me as well. I was talking about it with some friends. We could see Nightmare Moon banishing Celestia to the sun had NMM won the first time, 1,000 years ago. Here, it’s clear that this was after her return from her 1,000 year banishment. Having been imprisoned on the moon, I think NMM could deliberately banish her sister there. NMM could be pulling a “see how you like it, sister” on Celestia.
Interestingly, I wonder if there was a Standards and Practices judgement call there. It would be neat to imagine Celestia being banished to the Sun, but maybe S&P didn’t think encouraging kids to look at the sun would be a safe idea? I don’t know!
Anyway, just my $0.02. :)
Lauren was no longer working on the show at the time of the interview, but I can imagine some Faust purists getting pretty butthurt about this part of the finale.
Equestrian astrophysics. How does it work?
HELL……FUCKING…….YES!
