My first “drawing”. Ponies mean a lot to me and Twilight is the closest to me.
I never really drew stuff before. I am returning to pony after a long hiatus and some life stuff so I decided to pretend it’s 2011 and it’s ok to not be a super pro and drawing pony.

You’re very welcome, Yate! :) You’ve been a great friend and my time here wouldn’t have been the same without you. The best of luck to you.
A million thanks for everybody around here.
Funny.
hahaha, oh wow
Thank you. ^^
Yeah. That sounds like a plan!
That’s awesome! I like that you’re trying new poses.
You reminded me. If I might recommend an approach to drawing: Drawing exaggerated or interesting faces and poses can be a good practice. You don’t need to be too accurate. You’ll end up with pictures which don’t look so much like the show, but are a bit more organic and expressive. Accuracy will come later with practice.
That said, it is just an approach. Everyone draws and learns differently!
Thank you for the helpful words. I will try checking other people’s stuff more also tone down my own bad stuff. Hopefully I can get good enough with art that people might be interested in it. I decided to draw everyday after all. ^^
I am also glad to hear you made nice friends in the fandom. I still have to learn friendship, ironic or fitting. Only time will tell.
What worked for me was looking at the newest uploaded mlp tag on deviantart and talking to other new artist. I spent about a year talking to other people about their ponies on deviantart (eventually adding some of them to skype), just socializing and doing art trades. If you show a genuine interest in other artist you will find they often return it. Just keep your expectations realistic. Some people are not interested, or are just plain jerks, but most people like to do art trades or collab or simply exchange ideas.
Branching out is good too. I made a lot of friends by message a youtube channel that did mlp fanfiction readings. I bought a microphone; recorded and edited a reading; and sent it to them. They posted it and added me the next day to the channels roster and skype group. Their members included animators and visual artist in the fandom. I imagine that you could also get involved with managing deviantart groups, forum moderation, ect, but that is a bit of a chore for me.
Also people like fan art. I made my best friend by sending him a picture based on his new album at the time. I wasn’t expecting to make a friend; i just like expressing how much i appreciate artist.
PS there are places to go hang out online. http://berrytube.tv/ can be a bit toxic at times, but its a fun place to see pony videos and be part of a big group. http://www.equestriadaily.com/ is also a fun place to get to know people. Just be careful. Any community will have their fair share of toxic members, or people who care far too much, remember you can always ignore the jerks and/or block them.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask!
Thank you very much. That is really nice of you. I know I am 3-4 years too late for pony but I do like them and wanna draw them.
Any suggestion on how to make friends with art? I don’t know much about the community myself.
You are a nice person. ^^
Wow. It looks really great. Thanks.
There are some great artists out there like Maytee who manage to make pencil crayon colours work.
I don’t have any colour pencils to be honest. But yeah especially without a proper scanner.
I like traditional art but I am really on no funds no so I gotta work with what I have.
Pencil crayon colours don’t look well on screen.
While I have a tablet, I don’t know how to use it.
I think for now I will stick to pencil sketches. I would like to make my drawing fundamentals better before putting on an extra layer of difficulty with tones and colour.
