@OptimusPrimevil: The comics’ timeline can be handwaved in the same way the show’s episode timeline is handled. Using portrayal as a reason for dismissing is a flimsy reason in itself. In one case, I’d argue that the show and chapter book portrayal of one particular character wouldn’t make sense without the comics.
@BK_Leonidas
IDW comics are sketchy in terms of canon but queen haydon’s face kinda looks like the one in the model (but the model doesn’t have bat wings so it’s not her).
@Background Pony #CD50
they said they would make 5 more seasons
I’m afraid you’re misremembering that; at last year’s Hasbro investor meeting, it was announced that they were committed to the Friendship Is Magic brand for at least five more years, which is not the same thing as five more seasons of the show. The last MLP G1 cartoon episode aired in 1987– and My Little Pony Tales had one season in 1992– but the Gen continued as toys and comics until at least 1995, and there were still G1 toys on the shelves long after G2 toys started appearing in 1997.
@untraceablelarry
no, it won’t
Some months ago (during season 4) they said they would make 5 more seasons. That means that, as long as people continue to watch the show, we might get season 9.
