It is a game. He’ll be releasing an alplha demo for all to try out for themselves at the end of the month. So keep an eye on his youtube channel for info in the next couple weeks.

I’d hazard if we’re all amateurs then anything that works at all is worth pride.
Plus they’re funding this through Patreon so if they don’t release something to show for their work then people won’t have to be afraid their money is being stolen.
With any luck they stayed underground in hopes to complete their project.
Honestly? I never saw that as being a game so much as just a way to practice game design physics. I haven’t heard about that one in years.
On that note, I wonder what the progress is on Horse Game.
It’s purely fan made so unless people are providing these VA’s, whom I think do a fine job voicing them, are given the quality mics and other needed basics for voice work, which isn’t cheap when you want the best audio possible, I doubt we’ll be getting anything higher unless they get a good experienced sound editor.
That said, lines can be re-recorded as needed in the future. I think they’re going the wiser route with just getting as good a line in for a scene as needed to progress. So certainly room to worry about the voice quality down the road. But unless they ‘re being paid… that’s likely going to amount to a load of re-recording.
Makes me think what we hear is what we’ll initially get. Though I do hope they add in a delay for spoken spell usage. Or tie it to fully charged spell casts only. Those loud screechy moments of rapid spell shouting does grate the ears a lot.
Still, loving how well they add dialogue AS you travel. No forced cutscenes save for when its strictly needed. Combat seems like it’ll be the hardest to balance, but that’s something for future alpha progress to worry about. xD

Given it’s in an early alpha build I’m hoping they’ll improve upon it. The movement isn’t nearly as smooth as it could be, it starts and stops very sharp.
I pointed out that the voice-clips at times sounded too recording-boothy so I’m holding out they’ll take the time to re-record lines, what they got right now might be placeholders.
