Not technically fur. Horse’s coats are single-layered, fur indicates double-layered water resistant hair.
 
I believe Pegasi have true fur as an adaptation for high-altitude cold.

From what we saw of Applejack, hairnets are canon.

humans are also covered in hair. when I cooked professionally I shaved my forearms so that it’d be both easier to keep myself clean and to avoid random hairs falling into the food.
 
I still shave them, but I’m a dishwasher now. (oddly enough it pays better) so I do so because I’m shoving my hand into a vat of garbage at least once a day to check and make certain someone didn’t drop some stuff down the disposal that really shouldn’t be in there before running it. it was out for like six months because one of my coworkers doesn’t run it enough and it got a knife and a wad of steel wool stuck in it.

I’m not sure what affect on us that hairnet is supposed to have, but it’s working, whatever it is.

They got the hair net on…but at the cost of several bus boys getting broken bones and a wall being knocked down. Ponies are finicky creatures to place things on their manes. After she calmed down she noticed how nice it was and how fired she also was.
