Most shipping moments and drawings aren’t. Their value is more in how cute (and in some cases romantic or dorky) the pair are together.
 
I’d like to imagine that the book is actually a favorite of Flash’s and he’s sharing it with Twilight who he knows likes to read. Twilight, delighted in having a new book (let’s say it comes from the Crystal Empire…a thousand years ago) and a chance to spend more time with Flash, reads it together with Flash as he explains some of the eccentric nature that he only understands by living with crystal ponies.
