What’s even scarier is that, looking from the screenshots, this might become a reality! (Apart from Starlight killing herself from the spell of course)
Just because Applejack told Apple Bloom doesn’t necessarily mean Rarity told Sweetie Belle or Rainbow Dash told Scootaloo. But I’d imagine that the idea of losing their cutie mark would scare anypony.
Does This Mean The Cutie Mark Crusaders Are Of Losing Their Cutie Marks As Well?

I guess this would mean ||Twilight’s friends would enter the timeline and thwart Starlight’s every plan and keep Ms Sparkle alive. In the process, Twilight would then enter the timeline herself to get her friends out. In the end, just before they managed to get out, they come across a memory that Twilight suppressed a long time ago. This suppressed unicorn used to be called Twilight…but not in the name of Sparkle! ||

Maybe Applejack just told Apple Bloom about it? I can certainly see how something like that woulds stick in a her mind even if she didn’t experience it for herself.
Twilight comes through the portal and explains that she was held up dealing with a time travel thing before seeing sci-twi sitting across from where she came out.

I can’t keep these twilight snowclones’ names straight.
And I will not be at all surprised if it turns out that the voice taunting Applebloom in her nightmare episode was still caused in part by Sunset because I STILL can’t believe that wasn’t foreshadowing it fit her motives so well.
I assumed they were just parodying the “Big Brother is watching you” thing, but it makes me wonder if that extra meaning was intentional or not.
I feel the need to strangle her so they’ve obviously made her a good villain. :P
Eh, but she’s getting a book next year. And her stuck in time would be a weird book.
