Well actually, here’s my take on this…
With Twilight Sparkle being controlled by Human Twilight’s device, she will detect high amounts of magic in Equestria. If her friends get too close, their magic will be sucked out and stored into the device that Twilight is wearing. Is Princess Celestia fearing that her faithful student will become Midnight Sparkle?
Ouch, that was not a good day for her.
I suppose, cartoon logic aside, she could still survive because ~~Magik~~. Just might be a bit worse for wear.
Eh, she can take it. She was practically immortal before the ascension.
If by ‘freeing Twilight’ you mean blasting her to a smouldering pulp then yeah, she’s free.
