“Apfeljakob” is a slang name for AJ occasionally used in the German fandom (but not the show itself)
It’s a closer translation of her name as the German version of Jack is Jakob (pronounced YA-kob)

here we used to translate names (residual of fascism for about 40 years)
sometimes it was direct tranlsation, sometimes similar sounding, a few concept similarity

other times it had no darn sense at all
