Well, you don’t think the Cakes were a coincidence, do you? Obviously, Cup was born a Cake, and Carrot took her name upon marriage, as is the norm in Equestria. Spoiled of course took Filthy’s name because the Rich family was more prestigious than the Rotten family.

Assuming that’s how marriage works in Equestria, I give this theory two thumbs up.
