General Tag Discussion

Should we maybe have a tag like heart-shaped underhoof or heart-shaped frog (hoof) (or, less charitably, fleshlight underhoof) for images like >>1816146 that feature a big puffy yonic cleft under the hoof instead of a proper frog or a simple flat area like the show models use? Given the way that sort of design tends to get sexualized in lewd art, it’s probably something people who are into underhoof might want to search for.
 
There are over 32k underhoof images, so it’s definitely not the sort of thing to add without asking first.

There’s already a heart hoof tag (which seems a bit underused). It’s a bit broader than what you’re suggesting, because it also includes unshaded heart shapes like >>1632448

Yeah, it does seem underutilized for as broad a term as it is, since it does include The Movie style flat heart shapes, proper frogs stylized to be heart-shaped, and heart shaped thingamabobbers worn over regular show type hooves. I still think something specifically tied to underhoof would be more appropriate, though.

I personally intensely dislike “heart hooves”. It’s way too cutesy and jarring. I like the more realistically-shaped hooves.

Okay so, a while back, lots of tags like “headlight sparkle” or “hootershy” got removed and changed to just “busty twilight sparkle” and “busty fluttershy”, stuff like that
 
….and yet, I’m still seeing lots of other similar tags like “princess moonpig” and “chubbylestia”.
 
Why are some silly tags allowed to stay while others are forced to change?

The reason the breast tags were changed was:  
1: The sheer number of them and the amount they were used, necessitating them being standardized to ease searching. As you would need to know the pun name beforehand in order to search for it, as well as know the individual pun name for each individual character. While them being standardized to “busty [name]” makes it easy to know what to type in to search.  
2: They were often misused, being for any image that just featured the character having breasts, as opposed to them having large/oversized breasts. So we were hoping having a “busty” notice in the tag name itself would help give the impression it was for larger breasts and not just any breasts. Though people will still miss-tag things.  
3: Other tags haven’t shown they needed to be standardized yet, but if enough people feel they do need to be, we can do so in the future.

The tags make me think this should be Explicit.

Why they weren’t just aliased the other way around, and the tags removed from unfitting images, I’ll never know. Could’ve possibly had an implication for Big Breasts to try and stave off overuse, even.
 
But that’s not a discussion that’s really worth getting into again.

If you want the good ol’ fun pun tags back, at least on Desktop anyways, you could always install the userscript that will change them back on your end with Tampermonkey/Greasemonkey.

Because they legitimate started to upset some artists, and just seeing a mess of a dozen tags with no connection clogging up an image makes rooting through them to add or remove tags very annoying because people overuse them.

Just curious, how does tag alias/implication suggestions work? I noticed sometimes, a request gets done within a day, while other times it takes weeks. What determines how fast it gets done? Not complaining about any single requests; just curious about it.

As a weird case of serendipity, I was just looking at your request.
 
Regarding artist aliases, I generally try to update them a couple times a week. Recently, though, I have had some relatives hospitalized, and a funeral that took a lot of my time, and so I wasn’t able to devote as much time to it the last two weeks as I used to be able to. That should change soon though.
 
I’m not sure how long it will take to catch up with all of them - a few of the requests are taking a long time to research - including waiting for responses from artists in some cases. But I’m taking care of the “low hanging fruit” first and should be through most of them except for a couple lingering cases in the next couple of days.

You’ll probably want to wait someone else clear out this doubt, but to me personally in situations like this one it is valid to use the original artist tag + trace and give the person a poke on mentioning the original artist in any way or else add an art theft alongside it.

This has been bothering me for years, but should this be tagged anthro? I never wanted to bring up until now since it was such a minor thing.  

User “dagneo” just added the teats tag to a bunch of impossibly large crotchboobs images. I fixed the tags, but I figured I should let someone know what happened in case it happens again, and this thread was the best way I could think of.

Report the user and/or one of the images for Rule #2, it’ll get a faster response since the report queue is more-or-less constantly monitored by someone with mod permissions. They generally prefer we notify them of rulebreaking concerns that way rather than on an open forum where everyone else can see it.
