Video Game General 2: Definitive/Remastered Edition

I’ve been playing the first Borderlands. It’s all right. One thing I wish the game had was the ability to customize guns by swapping parts between them. I want to take a scope off a shotgun where it’s not needed and put it on a rifle where it is needed.

since I’ve been binging king of the hill maybe we’ll see a crossover with that since they put everything including the kitchen sink in that game.

I just won a game with each Civ in Civ 6 on my new PC. I might have a problem…

I still need to get Civ 6.
I mean my brother has it and I can play thanks to Steam Families, but he’s only got vanilla Civ 6. The boring one that doesn’t even have zombie mode.

I think Civ 6 is good. It should go on sale later this week.

Man, the civilians from SimCity SNES must be drooling morons. Do I have to be the one to do everything around?

Finally got around to tackling Icewind Dale 2 again. I forgot how rough it looks (unlike Baldur’s Gate, Planescape: Torment, and even the first Icewind Dale, it never got a graphical and mechanical upgrade).

I was wondering, do you think The Outer Worlds would have gotten the same amount of attention/reception it did if it wasn’t for how of a fool Bethesda was making of themselves at the time? Like they had the whole deal with Fallout 76’s announcement and launch, the paid mods deal.
Outer Wild’s whole deal/marketing strategy was basically “We’re the REAL Fallout!” and that got everyone hyped, then the actual game launched and i remember the reception being pretty mixed on it.
So idk if the game’s reception would have been different if it didn’t release during that time period

Reception wasn’t mixed, it actually got decent reception, the issue is that Obsidian claimed it was the spiritual successor to New Vegas and it ended up being not much like it at all, better dialogue and stuff and a decent story but besides that it was just kind of okay. At least Fallout 4 had fun gameplay and a world worth exploring, which was what Bethesda was good at. (until Starfield anyway)

To be fair, people were going to compare it to FO:NV simply because it’s an RPG made by Obsidian. Obsidian just cut out the middle man here.

Reviews were good but reception was mixed. Once the initial hype died down people realized it was just New Vegas again but with a HD texture mod and charged $60 again.
Then Starfield came out, and for a brief time people decided they liked Outer Worlds again. Which…yeah that tracks when it comes to Obsidian stans.
