If anyone wonders where we got this art trend from, it’s most likely coming from the Christian sonic fandom. there is quite a lot of sonic fanart with this same motif.  
My advice: See these as a cross over between pony and a fandom you don’t share and move along.

Jesus would get along fine with the ponies. He was born in a manger after all.

they can’t use the ponies directly but they can use the fandom.  
this will happen and we must prepare our selves for it.

All I can think about in the pic is what South Park is planning when they eventually get their shot at the ponies.
