I know. We wouldn’t dissect any being that we see as “sentient”.
But we’d study them a lot anyway.

Rubbish. Even if you’re cynical to the max, if nothing else she’d be first contact with an alien species and treated as possibly just the first of many; angering those who follow could be very dangerous.
