So… she employs Australian rockers to scare off the not-as-insanely-rich Canterlot residents to make their estate prices plummet so she can buy the whole lot, bulldoze the low-density areas and built some more fucking residential towers on top for her fledgling metropolis?
That evil mastermind!
I’m certain Celestia employs Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap to make time and space larger in her city when she feels like it needs more room. X3
Well, it’s basically just a hoofful of streets with townhouses built at the edge of a steep mountainside, with a couple of towers, terraces, a waterfall, and that giant fucking castle thrown in. It’s not exactly much of a metropolis (and I know my medieval metropolises).
Canterlot probably has more than that corner cafe, and that giant fucking castle, but those are the only two places that have been covered mostly. I don’t seem to recall what the outside of Shining’s house looked like also. :I
Ooooooh, that’s what you mean.
I suppose Ponyville does seem a bit more town-ish now, especially since the standards for towns probably aren’t very high in Equestria (I mean, Canterlot is supposedly a capital city)…
A random number to represent a whole bunch of extra backgrounds: A alley, a hill, a construction yard, a dam. I may be forgetting some. The idea is the Ponyville is more of a town than a village. Think any incarnation of Hyrule Castle Town or Toad Town.
When was the part with the acres again?
The episode.
I have the feeling this is a reference so something…
But to what?
Also, Ponyville is now considered a full-fledged town since Mare Do Well put in another 500 acres instantaneously. ;3
Oooh, naughty.
She even served free drinks laced with illegal substances. :D
Actually, you once see a poster in the background of the comic, advertising a ‘performance’ by Cassie the Kelpie.
Chances are that she lured the whole village in and then hypnotised them.
Boy, this overanalysation surely is fun!
For me Twilight failed on her Will save, her and Ponyville bad luck :P
leave me out of this.
i simply thought of the simplest solution. no one was expecting this magic, and it seemed to have started during the night when everyone was asleep. more specifically the magic seems to require high specilization. the kelpie could only make them either work to demolish the dam, or attack an intruder, and i guess she could only control one kind of creature at once.
and twilight is not exactly a regal sister type deal here, less experience and power and, as said, was asleep.
or that song magic used on unsuspecting victims can be rather hard to fight, and it does seem this magic started up during the night at some point.
This.
Half the time.
you enjoy this? is actually fun to you?
Dude don’t be so defensive. You don’t have to be so dramatic.
(I didn’t ignore your questions, I felt I answered them with my statements.
“So she was the last to break from the mind control in this issue?” “Was my question unanswerable for some reason?”
I answered in the first place by saying that I thought with Alicorn resistance she wouldn’t get effected anyway, thus if there was any interference, she would be the first one to be freed….in the off chance she would be effected in the first place.
The pollen came from the vines yet it never targeted Twilight? Even in the forest? If there was no pollen after any of them later, there was no reason why Rarity couldn’t of just used her magic or placed the gems into the tree.
Sure, Discord used Direct brainwashing on Fluttershy, but hypnotic visions don’t count as magic? The hell!?)
Anyway, sorry about the miscommunication.
@Evowizard25
I find it kind of ironic a kelpie is being used in this story. Not only is it an iconic monster, due to the most famous being the Loch Ness monster, but its second most natural form is that of a pony or horse.
…don’t know where the music spell comes from though. I guess they merged the kelpie mythos with the siren mythos since they both drown people? That’s a little odd considering the other 5 and Sunset seemed uneffected by siren songs in EG trailers.
Either way, still pretty interesting story. Even though the ending DID feel a bit too much like a bad S4 episode.
Oh, you’re right. That is a siren.
If this was a kelpie, it would just drown all the ponies and devour them.
I thought that was a siren thing.
I would wager Celestia and Luna are immune or extremely resistant, but that’s both to being born alicorns and most certainly facing Kelpies in the past.
So far, great comic.
