There’s a fic about that actually. Twilight starts an industrial revolution that makes pegasi flight obselete, not realizing that flying isn’t just about transport to pegasi. Rainbow hates what twi has done to society but out of respect for their friendship, remains silent and chooses to instead isolate herself from twilight and the others. Good fic, but forgot the name.
