Description
Luna, Big Mac, and their son Ares all together.
Ares is a very stubborn and mischievous colt, but can be trusted with very important things when taken seriously. Ares was born an earth pony despite having an alicorn mother, but decided to make up for his lack of magic and flight for his strength and quickness of his hooves. Ares can be very kind and is vey down to earth despite his upbringing in Canterlot Castle, and has always harbored a great respect for his mother and her night, not to mention his Apple Family ancestry.

Yee
this family wedding picture so perfcet right?
Too bad for ME? Why would I care what you don’t “consider” canon?
It’s too bad for YOU. They’re really good. Comic Luna in particular is a riot, and needs no fixing of any sort.
Too bad for you I don’t consider the comics fanon. And IDW Luna is a fucking unfixable mess of a character.
Yeah, but I don’t believe anyone went with Sweetcream/Big Mac besides, what, a couple of pics. (Which is okay, since she isn’t in that long and doesn’t have any dialogue) but Sweetcream has appeared in several comics, flirting with Big Mac.
And while I do like the idea of Fleetfoot/Big Mac, she was gonked on the head, so eh…Still like it.
So really, Luna only had Sweetcream to compete with in the comics, and Cheerilee in the show. (Though the last contestant could just be good friends, since they seem to have known each other for a long time.)
Eeyup.
Then again, Luna did have to share page time with Fleetfoot explicitly stalking Big Mac. And there was another saucy appearance by Sweetcream Scoops, too. Too many ships trying to sail into the same port, I reckon. Dude’s just in high demand.
@SFaccountant
I’m actually surprised that this ship didn’t get more attention with the comic. I mean, it’s right there!
I’ve never really understand why people need to have a reason to pair up cartoon animal characters in their head/art, but if you really need one…
The ship is interesting, at least. Luna and Big Mac have an established and fun character dynamic in the comics where she obliviously tugs him along after her while she has fun. There are so many ways that could be explored as an actual relationship, be it Luna dragging him along on adventures and royal functions, or conspicuously joining him in mundane events and making a scene.
It’s a lonely princess with the strong and noble farmer. This stuff writes itself.
Plus there was that part in the comics where Mac was Luna’s game partner and even got a big smooch on the cheek from her.
Why?
Then geddout.
