Pro-tip: don’t argue about race when you say nigga multiple times and your account name is Lord Niggertron. No one in their right mind will take you seriously.

@Lord Niggertron
As mentioned before, my problem is people claiming that they can only be humanized a certain way. Those arguments are almost invariably a long, stupid road.

Also? How the heck did Omi’s jacked up Mojo Jojo accent sound chinese?

As far as this picture…. The white girl also looks weird. Some people just have a gonzo art style.

Not a Llama - Happy April Fools Day!

Ya’ll niggas wanna know why artists generally characterize Zecora as black and make the mane 6 white? Here’s an experiment:
Below are the VAs for Applejack/Rainbow Dash and Zecora. Can you guess which is which?
full full
Course, ya’ll prolly already knew who’s who, but you see what I’s gettin at. The only point of reference ponies have that transfers over to a humanization is they voice. If a pone sound white, niggas gonna imagine her human form as white. I’s willing to bet most niggas imagine AJ and RD, depicted here as black, as sounding and therefore being white. Now errytime Niggertron bring this up, some nigga always tellin me how they know some black friend who remind them of Rarity and that’s why they humanize Rarity as black. That’s fine and that’s yo headcanon, but don’t expect errybody else to understand or accept it unquestioningly.

Now that ain’t to say yo race determines who you can voice act as. Hell, Tara strong voiced the cue ball-lookin chinese nigga in Xiaolin showdown. Difference is that she,a white woman, managed to sound convincingly like a chinese boy. There’s a reason VAs who can sound like more than one person get work.

But I’s losin focus on this pic. Between AJ lookin like she got chicken pox, disproportionate bodies and pointy-ass eyes, complications with race aint too high on this pic’s list of problems.

And from what I said.
The majority of viewers will associate zebras with blacks. Like it or not, that’s just how most people work.
For Christ’s sake, we’ve even got Saddle Arabians now. If that’s not a direct enough “real world analogue” for you, I don’t know what is.

From what I said…

And, more importantly, they’re candy-colored horses from a fictional setting, and as such don’t have direct real world analogue.

Is the most important point. Don’t bother with the analysis, basically, because it’s stupid and misses the point entirely. You might as well try to assign Star Trek species human races.

I don’t have a problem with the ponies being made into any ethnicity, but I do have a problem insisting that a given ethnicity is wrong or impossible. Someone wants to make the entire cast dark? Cool.

And for the record, my first thought on seeing Zecora was Caribbean witch doctor, not African.

@Sjogre
Stop over-analyzing a kids’ cartoon.
The majority of viewers will associate zebras in a cartoon about ponies with Africa, and therefore blacks, 100% accurate or not.

@Kappe
Oi….

If you’re going to bring that up, the ponies should all be Native Americans, since that’s where horses originated.

And, of course, the ponies are at least three different races, so making them all one race is also wrong.

And, more importantly, they’re candy-colored horses from a fictional setting, and as such don’t have direct real world analogue.

Finally, while zebras are from Africa, there are black people living in other continents, including North America.

And whatever else you say about Zecora, she was actually passing as a pony without even trying, so in human terms, she’d be able to pass as the same race as the Ponyville residents with little or no effort.
