i think her wings were just plucked to the point where they no longer provide enough lift to allow her to fly….

and chrysalis is a villain here , pretty sure animes with this older style had villains looking drastically different than the protagonists…..

1: Why are their wings so small? If you’re going to have wings, you should make them bigger.
