That’s part of the Mann vs Machine mode as an upgrade for the Medigun. You charge by healing (or getting shot at while ubercharged with a stock medigun) and at full energy you can make a projectile shield that stops bullets and deals damage to robots that touch it, eliminating the smaller ones faster.

A medigun with a projectile shield uber? That… sounds awesome. The balance is built-in. Absolute invulnerability from attacks that are facing the shield, for everyone behind the shield, but not for flanks, rear attacks or attacks from above.

Actually, a vaccinator is quite useful in MvM; it may not give you the invulns or the krits, but it allows you situational resistences without ubercharging, and its particular ubercharge system allows for quick revives.
