OP happens first (it introduced Discord), the episode I linked is a “season finale” of sorts, it’s just that believe it or not all the seemingly random characters and situations and dialogue in these videos actually have context if you watch the 150+ episodes (not that it makes them any less bizarre).
 
For example, there is a story behind Jet Jaguar and Mechani-Kong being in Celebi’s team, they were originally Vegeta and Ro-man respectivally, but had to be turned into robots after they fought to death… just scratching the surface…

So does the Celebi meets Discord thing happen before or after your context link? Because Discord trying to destroy Monster Island and Discord turning calzones into telephones don’t really seem to be related, continuity-wise.
 
(BTW, anyone else think of Dylan’s Highway 61? “Got forty red white and blue shoe strings, and a thousand telephones that won’t ring! You know I can’t get rid of these things!”)
