He’s a composer according to his Twitter page, as for the Shining and Cadence relationship, just gives the writers more fuel for the future I suppose, perhaps we’ll see some more of their relationship come Season 5.

What bothers me is that they should already have something like that with Shining Armor and Cadance, but it seems like ever since the Crystal Empire two-parter the writers have gone out of their way to avoiding giving them scenes together. Shining wasn’t even MENTIONED in “Three’s a Crowd,” when you’d think that, however excited Twilight might have been to see Cadance again, she would’ve been just a little disappointed that Shining couldn’t come too. And BigBlueberry already mentioned how the final Equestria Games episode was just a Spike episode, and, again, Shining and Cadance did not share any scenes together.

One of my main problems with him in EQG is that for the most part he was just there, so yeah, needed some more development overall.
 
Still, don’t know how I’d feel if they brought a genuine, full on reoccurring love interest/relationship into the show.

I agree, if they would show that you can have a positive relationship with someone else, even with the problems that arrive, and handle them with true love for each other. (Even though technically the Canterlot Wedding Ending kinda covered that. But I wished they would have spent more time expounding on Shining and Cadance’s relationship rather than dumping it in Spike’s Lap.)

Incoming fanfics where Shining Armor orders Flash onto a suicide mission.

I would actually be okay with this, if they gave Flash Sentry several episodes to develop his character a bit more.

No, the writers jokingly refer to it as “U Mad Bro?” Aka, he just gonna be in the way in a few episodes.
