Just keep in mind: while I’m sure de Lancie loves doing the role, he is still not cheap compared to the more local talent they have. I doubt we’re going to have Discord show up in S5 more than 4-6 times like he was this season. Still there as a character to turn towards and build a story around, but can’t drop him in for random gags like with AJ/RD or FS.

I think he has a lot of potential to explore in his episode. All of them actually.  
Applejack-family matters,simple life,hard working,honesty issues  
Rainbow Dash-struggle to fulfill dreams,matters of pegasi,sport theme,loyalty issues  
Rarity-fashion,cute boys,glamour live,nobility standards,sisters relationship  
Pinkie Pie-her family and her mind seem to be most interesting as she explore the life of a madman with good heart also issues with Laughter  
Twilight-science stuff,politic stuff,magic stuff etc theres a lot of potential for main heroine  
Fluttershy-except her never ending conflicts of being shy and a doormat she can explore problems of the brony community about being introvert and not pulling her weight in social matters  
Spike- he explores every aspect of being a kid, just like CMC but this is from boy perspective
 
and now we have Discord too and he seem to be most interesting to explore because:  
-he can be used to talk about problems of adult men or even elder men in his episodes  
-he would be a great source of lore since he would know a lot of stories before he was imprisoned  

Out of Twilight inner circle of friends only one is legit to become a sex buddy

So… is it the mane eight now?

In season 5
 
Spike takes Owlowiscious place  
Discord takes Spike place  
Chrysalis takes Discord place
 
Owlowiscious goes to Las Pegasus and becomes the producer of dance troupe with Saphire Shores and a group of beautiful mares.
