It’s easy to merge two different artist-tags when we know it’s the same artist. And once they’re merged they also get aliased. So in doubt: just add the artist name you find. Everything is better than no artist-tag at all.  
Plus a DA name is always a safe bet.
 
and with crappy fun tags I mean stuff like  
even m.a. larson should be afraid  
or  
oh shit get back in the car  
that’s just.. spam.  
Your tag changed were alright and justified.

Protip: they’re all “crappy fun tags”. With the possible exception of content ratings, there’s no real-world consequence to the presence or absence of any tag on this site.
 
(For the record, I try not to add artist tags unless I know for sure what they are; an artist’s “official” Derpibooru tag is often different from the username or blog name at the source.)

fantastic. you managed to add some crappy “funtags” and make some witty comments, but no one managed to add the artist-tag.
