I actually have most of the issues, but haven’t really read much between issues #50, and #160. (I have every recent issue sense then though.)
I don’t have a very extensive collectiono of Sonic comics myself, but I read it through the DIGITAL collection someone made over at kickass torrents.
Starting from about issue 25 onwards is the really cool part of the comics. Everything before that was pretty much just emulating the TV show Sonic the Hedgehog and a few of the classic games.
Search it up if you want a good 2 weeks of reading!
To be honest, I don’t think I saw those issues, but I remember Sonic being a li’l hot-tempered on occasion. Sonic got nicer, and more mellow later on.
Well, you say that about Sonic looking in on a meaner and crasser version of hiumself…
After issue 50, Sonic fell into a sort of post-war funk after the defeat of the original Dr. Robotnik. He was short with everyone, grumpy, and ruined several of Uncle Chuck’s experiments to see how fast Sonic could go.
I just find it interesting how I suddenly compare the two attitudes.
And as for the Disney comic, I think that was Sonic’s FIRST foray into comics.
BTW I assumed he meant he prefered Kintobor over good Sombra, so looking back I might not of understood the Ovi Kintobor reference from STC, if he was refering to that version.
I see, I’m aware of Robotnik’s STC orgins. (Which I think were also used in an old Disney Adventure comic adaption of Sonic, unrelated to Archie, or STC.)
Yeah, I think if Archie Sonic saw himself acting like that he wouldn’t be pleased. While at times cocky, he’s a bit more laid-back, and cares about his friends.
Nothing against those that like the British/Fleetway STC series, (it has aome unique things about it admittedly) but just not into it from what I’ve seen of it.
#175 (the Eggman PWNs Knothole, and Sonic issue, right?) was pretty good. Though a bit of a downer, if you don’t see the next issue.
Hell on wheels, that’s harsh…
Yeah, I’ve only read the Archie comics too. I was just confirming with background pony that he/she was talking about Ovi Kintobor, or Ivo Robotnik before his transformation in the StC series.
I like Dr. Kintobor here too, but my favorite Archie issue is still #175!
Eh, I prefer Archie Sonic personally. Couldn’t really get into the British StC, no offense. Plus I think they made Sonic to much of a jerk in it. (Even compared to other versions of Sonic.) Seriously, he’s always calling Tails & Amy “stupid,” and such.
From Sonic THE Comic right?
Well, the evil/normal Sombra (not sure if I should spoiler) was killed-off before they could do much with him, but I still like him.
So far, he is a lot better developed than Normal Sombra.
Same here - I just didn’t want to add it and then find out I did something I shouldn’t.
I’ll add one just in case. It spoiled something for me.
He was kinda cool, haven’t read the one with the anti-Sombra though, so I can’t judge. (And don’t tell me he sucks, people tell me the IDW MLP comics suck all the time, but I enjoyed the ones I saw. Only a few of the Micros were a bit weak to me, but still cute.)
