>animators completely forget what color his flame breath is
Yeah, sure, I can tell you care about him.
Seriously, other than his imagine spot during the diamond dog raid, his flame has NEVER been orange.
You’ve grown a lot young one
Actually, his fire was green when he melted that lock in Inspiration Manifestation.
The nature of his fire still hasn’t been fully explained, but the fact that this time (this one time out of every other time) his fire was actual, orange fire just can’t be an error or a mistake considering he used his green fire several times in this same episode.
Everytime he’s used his green fire on something that wasn’t a scroll (or that time with his dragon code paper), he’s burned it down normally. Which raises the question of what it truly the difference between his green fire and this one.
I personally think orange fire is supposed to be the “real” dragonfire all dragons eventually get as they grow, with the colored one being their “childhood” fire that isn’t nearly as potent. With this episode, they showed us a glimplse of Spike subcounsciously reaching out to his “grown up fire” (he said he just reacted) when he saw everyone in danger.
His fire was also orange when he MELTED that lock in Inspiration Manifestation. His green fire has usually been seen toasting food and sending letters - not causing extreme amounts of fire damage. I guess his green fire is ‘colder’ than these two other occasions where he’s used a far more powerful gout.
I’d also say he’s ‘leveled up’ his abilities a lot since the show began. A lot has happened to the little guy over the years - including a short bout as a rampaging adult dragon. It seems a little unfair on his character that he wouldn’t expand his physical/magical abilities after all of that experience - especially since the rest of the Mane 6 have shown growth in their abilitiess in the same time frame.
Not really. We saw the torch in the background of the promo material super early on, so as soon as I saw any hint of this I was like “oh, so he’s gotta melt some giant ice thing with super firebreath. Thanks for that climax spoiler.”
1: Why is Spike’s fire orange? Isn’t it usually green? We’ve never seen it this color in any other episode.
2: How was he able to produce that much fire? He’s never done more then a large, sliver of fire.
Nitpicks really. I love this episode through and through.
Nah man he lerned that from his father Ridley
Or is that dragon rage?
I thought it would be some kind of frost giant attacking during the games.
I like the effect, but it makes .gifs soooo much bigger.
Putting the whole firebreathing scene in was about 6MB, which is getting to be stupidly big for a .gif.
