In fact, the “fanservice” is an in-universe plot point! It’s only when Ryuko completely accepts that Senketsu is skimpy as all hell that she is able to use him to their full potential, similar to how if you just accept the fanservice (or ignore it entirely), you can really get involved with the story.
And holy crap, what a story it is.
Well, that’d make Kill la Kill a lot shorter (or Frozen a lot longer) considering their mother is already dead at the beginning!
I know, right?! I’d occasionally be so sucked into the action and plot that I’d forget that the main characters were running around half-naked.
Honestly, you stop noticing it after a while. At least, I did. There’s a lot of skin, especially in later episodes, but it’s desexualized through sheer quantity.
Believe it or not, the fan-service actually serves the plot. Now get over to crunchyroll and watch it.

Rarity is a fashionista, a great one. Knowing that Kill la Kill is about clothes, I have the impression Rarity would be a pretty valuable character in that universe.
