That, and they’re a break from animal based villains. Something that the comics are doing now.
 
Iron Will, (If you count) Ahuizotl (Some hands and anthroisim) and the Plunder Seeds (If you count them or it as villain’s’) are so far the only antagonists that are NOT pony-based, rather, based on other animals or things (Iron WIll is human-based and Ahuizotl Monkey based-ish)

This is one of the few ideas I’d wish the show would bring it - these twos could be reasonable foils , not too powerful but can be annoying if not stopped.
