@archestereo
I was being deliberately oblivious. I caught the slang being referenced from the get-go. I love how that started an on-going conversation.
I have a feeling she was reciting her poems in chronological order, so the first she read was the earliest of her works
…but didn’t the episode make a point of how she feels more than she’s letting on?
Balls are not like rocks though. If you punch a rock you hurt your hand. Also never heard anyone use rocks for balls.
Onto the poem. It didn’t really seem Maud style.
@anonymouspegasus
“Her poetry was meant to be bad in-universe”
I seriously disagree. Her first one sure, but the second was decent.
My thoughts are the same as Deserter’s again. Maybe with another girl/pony/whatever I could interpret it that way, but not Maud.
Thinking about it a little more, Maud might be a little too literal-minded to make that connection herself.
…it’d be weird for any girl, really…
Deserter has a point. She’s too obsessed with rocks to even go for the euphemism. And seriously, I never have heard that before.
Sorry man, but I just don’t see how that line could be taken out of context. I mean, if it was anyone else then maybe I’ll see it, but with Maud? I just don’t.
…seriously?
@archestereo
…I can’t see it, either. I’ve never heard of that being used as a euphemism.
Ya know, rocks? “I’d give up my rocks?”
Yeah… I don’t see it.
That’s….interesting.
…oh bloody hell, I may as well say it:
IT SOUNDS LIKE SHE SAID SHE’D GIVE UP HER BALLS!
you probably are.
@anonymouspegasus
…don’t tell me I’m the only one seeing this…
(not the writer) Her poetry was meant to be bad in-universe, why not here?

@Zaid Val’Roa
she’s obsessed with rocks; the first thing she did upon entering ponyville was to identify a rock. going out on a limb here, but maybe anon was enough to pull her away from something she found that interesting and made it worth more to her than her studies? that could be an interpretation of it…
@Zaid Val’Roa
…that wasn’t what I meant; try reading the line again…
@K_A
Well, I’m sure a good portion of the rocks on her family’s farm belong to her.
