Yes, I know saying two friends sleeping next to each other are a homosexual couple when they’re not is very immature, as I hate that behavior myself. But I never considered it homophobic (not even a little bit) until now. That makes the behavior even worse.

Also, it seems like you don’t know how artists work. You can tell by my name that I am an artist, but but by no means am I a really good one. Artists, at least the ones that I have met, love criticism, because if people dont tell them were they didn’t do well, then they will improve on them. Tell me, if everyone just praised you all your life, would you ever feel the need to do better at what you do? If it was me, I would just kick back and just keep doing things the same way every time since no one ever said I was doing something wrong. Oh, and don’t try pulling that bullshit that you did at the beginning of your comment, I am a sketch artist, and I don’t use colors in my art, nor do I sell my art for money, since I don’t believe that I am good enough yet.

Hmm, yeah you I think you are right about the light, it most likely is coming from from directly above. Though that does make the light shine in their eyes most likely incorrect, but I wont fault the artist on that, since many artists, myself included, put the light shine in the same place every time, no matter where the light is coming from. Also, it seems we both agree on the matter about the Upvote galore pictures. I dont think that they need to be sexual in anyway to be great picture that are in need of an upvote galore, just most are sexual, since, well… sex sells. Oh, and thank you for telling me the amount of time that was spent of this picture. With that in mind, this picture looks very well done.

I would further refute your initial ‘breasts = massive upvotes’ claim, and how this was only upvoted because boobs, but to be honest I have no idea what the heck you were saying in parentheses.

Wow way to project your own artistic failings on to another, dude. This is a $10 sketch (20 really because each character is $10 so 2 characters is $20) Tearing down someones art and attacking an artists skill just makes you look completely douchy and petty. The Commissioner was more than happy with the piece and Noben draws amazing landscapes and paintings, examples being here:

So yeah.. do some research before you go badmouthing someone just because the art you like isn’t getting the recognition you want. I’m reminded of something My little pony touted called ‘love and tolerate’. There’s quite a surprising number of pony fans who do not do either very well if at all.

I will not argue that people will tend to vote towards sex appeal, hence all the commercials, websites and adverts that play it up. However, it does not change the fact that a good picture can easily stand on it’s own with or without any sex appeal. Will adding sex appeal add interest? Of course. Will it double it? Very likely not.
 
As far as the perspective of the light, look closely at AJ’s fingers, they’re not held flush with the apple, they’re curved inwards, thus allowing surface area for the sun to shine down on. At a glance I would say that the sun is almost directly overhead. As to account for not everything being lit up, they’re in Sweet Apple Acres. Stand in a break in a forest sometime, see what happens to the light coming from directly above.
 
As for the artist herself, she doesn’t exclusively draw pony for one, hasn’t been uploading things she’s drawn for a while for two (and not all of those she’s done art for will upload them) and for three, this isn’t an actual full length commission, this and most of the other images that have been uploaded here were done on a livestream in 45 minutes to an hour. This particular piece took an hour and twenty minutes start to finish, IE sketch, to ink and color. I don’t know about you, but I’d call that pretty good for the time frame.

Two more things. If this artist is so good, why is it that this is basically their only picture to even come close to an upvotes galore? Also, even though you were right about the fact that their are more picture that dont have breasts than pictures that do have breasts in the upvotes galore tag, comparing 100’s to 1000’s isn’t a good idea, since one is much smaller than the other.

You want your research? Through using the search function, I found that about 5800 pictures on here have been upvote galores, and about 1500 of them are safe, which leaves the rest to be sexual in some way. 1700 of the upvote galores have breasts in them, a good number of which are edits of existing art that was not in the upvote galore tag that were given breasts. About 2700 are explicit and around 700 are suggestive. though adding up all number from the safe, suggestive, and explicit tags don’t make 5800, it only leaves 900 tags, which is not enough to trump the explicit tag’s count. Even though this does disprove Perteks’ theory, it does prove that many of the pictures that are upvote galored are upvoted because they are sexually pleasing. Also, there is pixel arts that are upvote galored, so you do have to be some master artist to, which this one does not seem to be near. Look at the picture more closely, specifically the shadows. Now tell me, how do all of those shadows line up with the way light works? Keep in mind, you should be able to tell where the sun is by looking at where it is the brightest in contrast with what is around it. By looking at AJ’s fingers, we can see that we are almost looking from the sun’s prospective, just from a lower angle, and we can see that the shadows to line up the much at all.

There is nothing wrong with liking artistic depictions of physical beauty. I do not see why I should value a high-quality picture of, say, a dismembered body as mush as this one.

Get back to me when you actually have anything other than a biased opinion to back that claim up. You can draw breasts on something until doomsday, but if it’s not well done it’s not going to be well liked. Click on the ‘upvotes galore’ tag sometime, there are literally hundreds of pictures on there which have little to no bustitude.
