In my house, the pipes for the central heating and general hot water run directly under my bedroom floor. In the winter, it keeps my room comfortably warmer than most of the rest of the house. In the summer, it can easily get well over 40°C.
 
Still, not as bad as my old office, which had its staff kitchen and filing rooms in a converted conservatory at the back…the temps there in midsummer could easily hit 60°C! (the digital thermometer’s LCD would begin to fail between 50 and 60, that’s how hot it got…)

Pfft my fan broke like three days ago and my rooms the equivalent to a janitors closet with no air circulation and the heat cracked up twenty four seven plus the idiots who built my home thought a vent RIGHT INSIDE THE ROOM would be a good idea.
 
My room gets nearly 10 degrees hotter then the rest of the house.
