In Bob’s drawings Octavia’s Mother (As I’m guessing) really wanted to have a lot of foals but she only ever had Octavia due to a medical condition. And since Vinyl acts like a foal in Bob’s drawings it clicked; Hence the whole babying Vinyl Scratch thing.
