There’s also the fact that just about any ship has its share of “rabid” fans…

Why do you judge all Rarijack fans as rabid? In fact, why are you brining this Rarijack crap up, especially on an AppleDash image? I don’t like that. Not all Rarijack fans are like that. I’m sure there are sane Rarijack fans as well (the ones who don’t take Rarijack seriously). I’m certain some of them want to be your friend. In fact, it happens to other pairings as well. If you’re going to do that to Rariajck, then you should do that to pairings that are more popular than Rarijack as well, like AppleDash, or Sparity, or TwiDash.  
Sure, I hate AppleDash. But that doesn’t matter to me because I think the comic is very funny and very good. What I hate more than AppleDash are flame wars, ship wars, rabid fans, and rabid haters.  
I don’t know what’s sadder: The rabid Rarijack shippers (which I’m not one of) or those who judge Rarijack shippers (despite the fact that some of them ship other AJ/Rarity pairings that exist and that not all of them take their pairing too seriously or call their ship canon).  
Right now, (because of people who call Rarijack canon and people who judge Rariajck shippers) I’m very ashamed of myself for being a Rarijack fan. :`(
