I at least just find the idea that banning porn on a 4chan board “will make the place better” totally ludicrous. The bad reputation /MLP/ is getting isn’t stemming from the porn.

But /mlp/ being a shithole is a good thing. It keeps the edgy fucktards bottled up in their own little circlejerk so that they don’t go around stirring up shit on other websites because they can’t shove their forced misanthropy anywhere else.

I haven’t been to /mlp/ in a while, but I don’t think this is a mod? At least they aren’t logged in as one. And “Element of Nobility”? KnightSavant? If this isn’t bait I don’t want to know what happened while I was away.
 
People forget that 4chan can be productive… Look at /co/lette, The Lovely Ladybug, Time Wizards, Dungeons: The Dragoning, Engine Heart, Katawa Shoujo… For better or worse, even the very word for “bronies” was coined on 4chan’s /co/.
 
And as much as people make fun of it for being horrible, nobody does so more than 4chan itself, a refreshing amount of self awareness when compared to the rest of the internet. This is why this Mobius person, acting authoritative amidst a sea of hooligans priding themselves on being equals, knowing that they are terrible, is as far removed from 4chan’s, from /mlp/‘s ideals as possible.
 
tl;dr 4chan can get things done, but only so long as it doesn’t delude itself into thinking it’s something other than what it is. Not like this poor schmuck, thinking you can clean the filth off a piece of filth and have anything left over.

The biggest problem with 4chan is 4chan’s design. The second biggest is 4chan’s mods/janitors/moot/etc.. The third biggest is 4chan’s users. The 4th biggest is so small it doesn’t even register.

If the mods think that porn is their biggest problems than they really need to take a hard look on their board. For example right now there is a thread about Michael Morones, lets put it this way it’s not a show of support thread.

And to be honest? /mlp/ is always sort of fucked with moot in charge. He is infamous for his dislike of Western content (just ask /co/) and also has a 2006-era SA mentality of burning anything that is even slightly related to something that could be considered “furry.” Basically anything with talking animals.
 
/mlp/ is one of the boards he doesn’t want there, but has to because of money. I’m sure if he could, he’d do like SA does and put a gag rule on all discussion of it, both positive and negative.

To be fair, they hate /pol/ too. And some boards are more friendly to it than others. There’s a comic somewhere of all of the boards talking and getting along until /s4s/ and /pol/ come in.
