True, but the best thing to avoid a lord of chaos is to ignore them, cause she knew he was going to screw them over with the whole ‘take care of him while sick’ bit. AJ and Rarity had good intentions to try and delay Discord, but they should of figured out not to give him any attention. Discord gets a kick out of people reacting to him, the more people walking away and just ignoring him, the more people that wouldn’t get screwed over.
 
As for Pinkie, its unclear. Her and Discord have too much common interests for Discord to ‘troll’, they are kindred spirits in many aspects, so its likely Discord just wanted her out of the way without resorting to more cruel tricks like fake illnesses.

The only reason that AJ and Rarity stick around is that they promised not to let anything interfere with Twilight’s day, and thought they actually could delay or distract Discord. Apparently RD wasn’t convinced. Strange how Discord seemed to be eager to get rid of Pinkie though, almost as if she might have been able to delay or distract him.

She already told them basically not to indulge him for a second.

She can’t do a thing if they don’t take a hint. None of them should of stuck around for Discord’s BS for more then a minute. Its not like they could delay Discord from getting to Twilight and Cadense, all they could do is trust Twilight not to indulge him at all.
