Reread my post, I said it’s NOT an exact mirror universe, that was my point. It had alot of differences, and frankly, I thought the differences made it a li’l more interesting then I thought it’d be.

boring cliche humans universe is not a “mirror universe”, to be a mirror they must have the same species, civilization and tech than the main universe.

Even if it is kinda a comic book cliche’, if that is what they’re planning, (even the official “Sonic the Hedgehog” comic series did the “multi-verse” thing, and has an “Evil Mobius” alternate universe) I look forward to it regardless.
 
It could be interesting, especially if like the E.G. movie it’s not an exact mirror of it’s original universe. Like maybe some characters might be “neutral,” or nor entirely “evil.” (Like emo Pinkie.)

This cover is most likely going to be mirrored with another one when the actual comic releases…same shot, but with the alternate characters, Tyrant Celestia, Fluttershy glaring at Angel, Time Turner with derped eyes jumping towards serious Derpy, happy Chrysalis, etc.

True, but still along the same vein. But if they run something different than the usual heel face turn, that will be good. And the Cook/Price team has that ability.

technically is not a “heel face turn” because mirror universe Sombra was good since the beginning, prime equestira sombra is still evil (and dead).

I thought of that and that would be a great idea, where Evil Cele actually did what Sombra had planned, and he remains one of the few in opposition.
 
The only problem with that, to me, is that it would be yet another heel-face-turn for a major villain (following Discord and Trixie), and feel trite. But there’s ways to play around with that too, so it’s not necessarily bad.

A thing to consider, even with Mirror Universe-based works elsewhere, is that while personalities may be twisted, they may not always necessarily be evil (if the original is good).
 
Only massive guessing here, but the world they have to help is one where Sombra was not stopped by Celestia and Luna 1000yrs prior, and thus a more crap-tastic world, and some of that is leaking out to the present of our Equestria, thus the need to figure out how to save that world.
 
The Alt Mane 6 are more “viscous” versions of the ones we know (possibly lacking Twilight too if we assume Celestia was put out of commission by Sombra), but would be willing to help the mane 6 to succeed since being under Sombra’s rule isn’t great at all.

The Mane Six seem to be Tyrant Celestia’s mercenaries while King Sombra is fighting to free the Equestrians from her hoof of Iron. Like Earth-3, where Alexander Luthor is the only hero in a world full of villains.
