That’s the old hypothesis-theory confusion you have there.
Or maybe what the artist has there.
Of course, in regular speech, “theory” is perfectly usable for something only considered as a possibility, an unproven idea or a complex idea.
But scientifically, “truth” or “fact” (or especially “proof”) are the underpinnings of a theory, not the upgrades.
Only if there were sufficient evidence to confirm the theories, and even then, new evidence could cast them back into doubt. Remember, even gravity and the atomic model of matter are technically theories.
I’ve been hearing the name Mod the Eagle due to the duck scene.
And I think we should call the eagle Neville. No particular reason.
