One that I saw had every micro above Spike’s, and the CMC were only like one or two spots above them.
People are just massively biased towards Cook/Price because of the sheer memetic quality of their work. It’s good, but good in a way that isn’t readily convertible to “fandom humor.” You can do a lot with Luna acting cute while wanting cake, less so with the CMC learning a really important lesson or Spike being like the only character ever to have his situation turn out well.
In one I saw, Luna placed first by a massive margin. Her’s was pretty good, but Rarity’s was still better (hers placed second).
Spike and the CMC were at the very bottom with maybe 400 votes (out of about 20,000 cast) combined.
The polls about the “best micro” I’ve seen were beyond laughable.
Just another example of how some undervalue these great characters.
I honestly wonder what the distribution for either of them was. I have heard of almost no one talk about them, or post things about them. You’d think people would go crazy over Mimickers or Sea Beasts, but I guess not.
Honestly? The only micros that are truly memorable are Luna’s, Spike’s, Rarity’s, and the CMC’s. Each for their own reason.
It’s a shame.
They were so excellent.
Shockingly close to mine, just switch CMC/Spike and Applejack/Dash.
CMC and especially Spike’s seem to have been read by almost no one.
I enjoyed Applejack’s (even though it was identical to pretty much all of her episodes. Apples, family, stubborn. Got it.).
Really, with the exception of Rarity’s, I found all the non-Mane 6 issues to be better.
I ordered them: Rarity > Luna > CMC > Spike > Celestia > Applejack > Pinkie > Twilight > Fluttershy > Dash.
Personally, Applejack’s was by far my least favorite.
Eh, each other’s own, I loved this issue of the Micro series. Particularly this is something that G4 was influenced from G1.
But then Dash’s micro was the weakest out of all of them.
