Easily the lowest point of Mane 6 (minus poor Flutty) for me personally.

Not to mention, it gave me that foul vibe of a religious cult where Fluttershy requires a reeducation.

forget talking and communicating in a debate, vulture circling around your opponent in grim lighting while chanting is the way to go

She kinda did with the spell though. As she did said she didn’t wanted to drive those bats away with shotguns/etc like AJ wanted to and wanted to use a more peaceful methode to please Shy as well.

I thought she would too, given how she would look at the problem at a scientific point of view and try to act as a princess would and take both sides into consideration.
 
But she has a tendency of doing stupid/illogical things quite often.

This, right here, is what many “animal rights” groups don’t seem to understand.
 
Thanks to a European ban on seal products, many Inuit seal hunting communities are losing their livelihood, just because some oversensitive people couldn’t bear seeing “cute seals” being beaten to death.

Is it somehow bad that I can see AJ’s point of view on this? She’s sunk a ton of effort, time, and money on that farm- letting the bats destroy the year’s crop would annihilate her livelihood, and with Applebloom still a dependent, the situation could get ugly fast.
 
It doesn’t matter how cutely Flutters squeaks, AJ has the right to stand her ground. Her friend apparently asking her to just let the bat colony destroy everything she has might seem like a bit of a betrayal.

tbh I never take the things that happen in songs at face value; stuff even zanier than usual happens in those.

@Evowizard25 Well, Pinkie is one for group musical numbers. If they were doing this rationally and with those ooky ‘facts’ and ‘numbers’ and such she would probably have sided with Flutters. “But I can’t just resist a soooong!”

At the time, I thought that since Rarity and Dash took AJ’s side, then Twilight and Pinkie would side with Fluttershy and that’d be conflict.
 
But then we wouldn’t have gotten FlutterBat, so it all works out.

I was kind of surprised Pinkie went along with the others and not with Fluttershy. {Since she usually will take her side and I thought Pinkie would like the idea of befriending the bats.}
 
But we had to have everyone against Fluttershy so…yeah.
 
Still a good episode, just a tiny nitpic. Nothing too bad about it.
