@Kryptchild Look at these two dimbulbs and tell me Snips flubbing a simple illumination spell so badly that it becomes a high-level genderswap spell is beyond any possibility. Especially if they’re aspiring to mimick one of Trixie’s showspells.

Better question: how would they be based on the other two? What’s the obvious connection? And I assume it’s obvious, since there isn’t an explanation given, suggesting that the creator believes the similarities to be self-evident.

Not a Llama - Happy April Fools Day!

Nah, they’re pretty much The Two Henchmen. They become an antagonist’s main or only henchmen even though they aren’t really very competent. Like Scratch and Grounder, or Hack and Slash, or Bebop and Rocksteady, etc.  
The difference though is that Snips and Snails aren’t bad guys when there isn’t a bigger antagonist around
