Twilight was the only one who wasn’t afraid of zecora back in season 1 and showed some common sense and nobody in the fandom was holding that against her.Don’t see why this case is different

Oh magic mystery cure, MMC is relavent to Twilight, should I ignore that it happened? You are missing the point, what does Twilight not panicking (she’s too analytical to be scared by an old building and superstition) have to do with “…the writers turn all your friends into simpletons completely dependent on you to think for them.” They haven’t changed so they didn’t “turn then into” simpletons, if anything they were already there as without Twilights knowledge they’d be lost in most of their saving equestria adventures. That’s not to say though that the rest of the mane 6 aren’t important, but Twilight is basically their guidance, that’s why she became a princess.
 
tl:dr It’s not that becoming a princess made the rest of the mane 6 any more dependent but rather Twilight always guided them (at the very least making them appear dependent (in terms of saving equestria, they’re not dependent in ordinary things obviously)) and so that guidance was made official by making her a princess.

Sure Twilights not exactly all that experienced, but she’s basically trained for the roll and some magical force decided that she is capable of being a leader (not necessarily a perfect one at the present though, it’s not like she was just handed a kingdom, she’s still just working on small stuff) When the princesses disappeared they all looked to Twilight to find them and she delivered, what have you been watching?
 
When Cadance was made a princess do you think she was perfect off the bat? As far as we know Luna still doesn’t do much as of late aside from raise/lower the moon. She may be more mature that doesn’t mean she knows the workings of a society and what needs to be done.

The writers didn’t change anything with her being an alicorn, since when did the other 5 do any thinking in terms of solving any problems? It’s not new, it’s just now official because her being a princess is the next logical step.
