I figured Dscrd would have something. I thought they were just part of the forest trying to protect itself.
What about the roots…? Oh, well… All we’ve seen is that some of the plants have magic properties (like this scene and when Twilight gets attacked by them while trying to find her friends), but I don’t think it’s much deeper than that. They’re Discord’s seeds, so who knows what they’re fully capable of. If that’s what you were asking. I mean you’d have to watch the episode another time I guess
