The big-ass Luna wings on the small pony body just looks wrong, in my opinion.

Back when we could actually do that…
Adventure in the comments means, Holly shit these is great these guy are a riot. Either because some folks had a very funny or interesting chat, Or made complete asses of themselves.
Drama in the comments is, well Drama that happens in the comments.
And people are STILL complaining about it regardless…
…By the way, what exactly is the difference between the “drama in the comments” tag and the “adventure in the comments” tag?
That could still be her super attack spell.
Yeah, I was so glad to see it was only a magic spell. Meghan even answered such a question on twitter to take out all worries regarding “Sonic Twiboom” which I rather would like to call Twilight Starburst. ^^
>Fans expected Sonic Rainboom to make them butthurt
>Got magic fireworks instead
So, casting a fireworks-like magic spell while flying means Twilight Sparkle is a mary sue?
I just had a thought that if saiyanism is a dominant gene, I guess the human race would never quite be the same, thanks to those two.
You know, as I recall, all saiyans were warriors, not just the men, so it didn’t make a heck of a lot of sense that the daughter of the very saiyan prince didn’t even seem to fight at all.
Since when did Vegeta get a daughter? Is it possible female Saiyans go Super Saiyan? We may never know, as ALL pure females of pure Saiyan blood got killed. If not, then it’s rather sexist.
However, seeing as how Goku’s Great Great Grandson was able to transform… I dunno…
I was briefly interested in Pan because of the possibility of seeing a female Super Saiyan. But no, that didn’t happen.
Goten started out as a miniature Goku knock-off. But they didn’t focus on Goten as much as they’ve focused on Trunks. It’s as if Goten was just inserted as a “character” in the last minute, just to be Trunks’ fighting partner, who does not even get enough screentime in GT because of Pan. And don’t even get me started on her… The WORST F-ing character ever in the DB series!
Oh yeah, Goku’s fatherhood… “No Chichi, you raise the kids, can’t you see I’m enjoying myself over here?!”
DBZ was supposed to end at the Cell Saga. That was where Gohan was became the designated “savior of the world”, until the Buu Saga where Goku(the scumbag father) took all that glory back and even became a GOD!
In most medias, the father dies, son succeeds father, swears revenge, become powerful, then kills the antagonist avenging his father and saving the world.
The Patriot, starring Mel Gibson, was an example of a reverse exception to this “rule”.
Gohan was truly hilarious. He had his “true potential” unlocked, what, 5 or 6 times?
Even Vegeta, who was toe to toe with Goku for most of the series fell into inferiority. Gohan was reduced to a office boy in GT, that pissed me off. And don’t even get me started on Goten.
True. But again, even though the other characters are less powerful, they still get focus. Unlike, say, Dragon Ball Z, which rapidly devolved the Goku Show even after Gohan was supposed to carry on the torch at the end of the Cell Saga.
You know what TvTropes call that?
Can’t Catch Up Goku is like the poster boy for this trope.
Not only in TV shows, but also prevalent in video games that especially have Loads of Characters such as Fire Emblem, a notorious example.
You mean Justice League? Definitely an improvement over the solo stuff.
What about the League of Justice?
Yeah. Part of the reason I can’t understand Twilicorn hate is that I’ve seen this happen no less than four times in Digimon, which is probably my favorite anime franchise of all time.
The “hero” and “lancer” almost always get to go one level of power beyond the other characters with their Digimon partners. Despite this, the other characters are still generally well-developed and do get to do important things. Izzy in Adventure, for example, continued to carry the entire team with his practical knowledge despite Tentomon not having a mega-level evolution. Cody in Adventure 02 was actually a much more compelling character than the leader Davis, since he had a personal history with the villain Oikawa because of his deceased father, and had a very strong sense of family tradition that provided consistent conflict when he had to learn to compromise his sense of honor for the greater good. Tamers only gave Takato his strongest evolution at the very end, and while he was ultimately responsible for destroying the D-Reaper’s most powerful agent, all the other Tamers were instrumental in defeating the D-Reaper once and for all.
The only season that had a problem with leaders becoming more powerful was Frontier, since in order for Takuya and Koji to evolve to their highest level they had to take away the powers of everyone else. Xros Wars/Fusion never had this problem, since Taiki/Mikey was arguably a Gary Stu from the very beginning.
I grew up with cartoons like X-men, TMNT, Tale Spin, and other shows that emphasized teamwork and a noticeable lack of any one person who made everyone else look like second fiddle. Those kinds of shows always appealed to me more than, say, Superman, for example. When it’s always the same guy saving the day, it just isn’t as much fun.
I HATED too. But it seems to be a norm.
I HATED that about those shows!
The better to scratch her nethers with, my dear!
I don’t care if Twilight is a “Mary Sue” or whatever. Isn’t it normal for protagonists to progress into being overpowered, in various other medias, especially anime like DBZ, Sonic, YuGiOh(Original, GX, 5D, Zexel), etc…?
And nobody batted anyone’s eye.
